There are a variety of organizations that grant wishes to children with life threatening conditions.

Tips on applying for a wish:

  1. Sometimes your child’s specialist or pediatrician is not the ideal person to write the letter justifying the wish.  If your child has a social worker at the hospital, he or she might be a better choice as social workers are great at describing the “big picture” impact of your child’s illness.
  2. List any and all special requests such as dietary needs, medical equipment, and other accommodations at the time you are making the wish arrangements.
  3. Be as flexible as possible with dates and locations.  Some organizations have special arrangements with certain resorts, hotels, theme parks, and other travel businesses which make granting wishes more affordable.
  4. Connect with other families who have worked with the organization for tips!
